    Good cable for HDTV

    Review Date: July 25, 2007

Our cable company does not have HD cable boxes with HDMI connectors, so they connect the box to HDTVs using component video cables. The picture is pretty good, but the box has a DVI out and the TV has an HDMI in, so I bought this cable and gave it a try. It noticeably improved the HD picture. This cable is a single-link DVI and the box connector is a double-link type, but it seems to make no difference. So if you have HDMI on your cable box, use it; if you have DVI-out, this cable might be the second-best choice. I am happy with the improvement. Even the non-HD channels look better.
Good Company - Great Price - No Problems

I just bought an HD DVD player, but I have an "older" 1080i Sony television. I had done my homework, and knew before I bought the player that I would need a conversion cable. I was looking for a brand name cable, but did not want to pay "monster" prices. This cable fit the bill perfectly.

These are premium cables, it is very difficult to find these in stores, and they work just as well as monster, yet are commercial grade. Very clear image, 1080P compatible - needs a screen that will handle it. I might get the longer ones when my TV shows up. These are heavy duty cables, and they are heavy. I recommend these over monsters because they are cheaper in price, but not in quality.
    great quality product

I had purchased a much cheaper DVI to HDMI cable thinking that it was a bargain. The cheaper cable didn't last very long and required a lot of tweaking. Eventually I ended up purchasing the Belkin cable, and it has lasted much longer. It's definitely worth the few more bucks for a high quality cable that can survive some bending.
    It works perfectly!

Works great for HDMI Tivo to DVI Sony TV

    Review Date: January 23, 2010
    Reviewer: Von Welch,
One thing I wasn't sure of from the description and the other reviews is if this is a HDMI-to-DVI device, DVI-to-HDMI or both. Well I can state from first hand experience it works great from HDMI our our Tivo to the DVI input on our Sony TV. We were running low on component inputs on the TV, but it had a DVI input we had never used. Since the Tivo had HDMI output I thought I'd give this cable a chance and it works great.
    Perfect!

Typical Belkin quality - which means it's good! Exactly what I needed to go from my Dell XPS M1530 to my 24" monitor. Excellent picture, easy to use.
    What more could I say?

HDMI is simply another acronym of which there are many popping up all the time. When we are searching for the best HDMI cable we are, really, searching to buy a high definition multimedia interface cable. It does not sound nearly as exciting when you write it that way.

It is really an interface to send uncompressed digital data for audio and visual in normal words. The 2000s is when it was first used so it is a really recent invention. Since that time it has grown in popularity very fast. So much so that as at January 2009 it had been put in as a base in six hundred million HDMI devices.

They have, in their make up, several different alternatives in their specification. The basic specifications are defined as 1.0 thru to 1.4.. Whilst it is possible to use any connectors or cables, in order to get the ideal performance standard you need to find out which are the right ones for your individual device.

Type A, Type B, Type C and Type D are the 4 connector types. They come in various sizes and one other major difference is how many pins each one needs.

The HDMI cables do not have a maximum length assigned to them. Actually, what they are made of is far more important for the quality of sound and picture that they can provide for us. Category 2 cables are the high speed cables while Category 1 cables are the normal ones. The various basic specifications they can operate for is reflected by their names like hdmi cable 1.3 to reflect the different basic specifications they will operate for.

On one cable, HDMI can support any TV or Video format and up to eight channels containing digital audio. There is no loss of quality of video when a DVI to HDMI cable and adapter is used and it is not necessary to do signal conversion as HDMI is compatible electrically with DVI (Digital Visual Interface) signals.

Recently the online gamers have become massive users of HDMI. When using an Xbox it is best to use an Xbox 360 hdmi cable and for a ps3 a ps3 HDMI cable or playstation 3 HDMI cable.

Monster is the the main supplier of the best HDMI cable and Phillips, Panasonic, Belkin and other major television companies all manufacture them as well.
