| The Xbox 360 HDMI Cable provides gamers with separate audio and video connections via the included Audio Adapter. The Audio Adapter allows HDMI video to be routed to the HDTV with the audio routed SEPERATLY to the home speaker system. Without the Audio Adapter the video and audio signals are both carried by the HDMI cable. This means users without an HDMI receiver (new/costly) must listen to their Xbox 360 game and movie audio via their TV speakers. * One wire for both digital audio and video * Experience high definition movies and games at up to 1080p resolution * Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound output * Optical/RCA Audio Adapter included for non-HDMI supported stereo systems * 2 meter (6.5 feet) shielded cable |

I Love my XBOX 360 with it's Microsoft VGA Cable.
Just wanted to Clear this up for people with the older 360's looking to boost their graphics. (This Cable dose exactly what it is meant to do, that is why I give it 5 Stars).
I have a non-HDMI XBOX 360 core system mfg. 7/2007, the picture doesn't show it well, but all this package contains is a Standard HDMI cable and a adapter that connects to the large A/V port on the back of the 360 and goes out to SOUND ONLY.
This WILL NOT Adapt your Standard 360 A/V port to HDMI.
This product only works if your XBOX 360 Already has a HDMI port in the back and it just gives you ports for audio so you can attach your 360 to HDMI and your surround sound receiver. where as with just HDMI cable, the sound is just coming from your TV's speakers. |
wish I didn't need it

Works only with xboxes that have HDMI output ports (manufactured around July 07). This kit allows you to connect your xbox to an hdmi input on your TV. It also comes with a special adaptor that allows you to connect an output dongle to the regular output of the xbox. This adaptor allows you to output an optical connection to your sound system separately (for those of you who don't want/can't get their audio through HDMI)
Con: It stinks that you need this. The xbox comes with a connector that has an optical audio output, but this connector is so large that an HDMI cable will not fit into the adjacent HDMI port at the same time. |

| ...know what you are buying and what your needs are. Description clearly states that this unit does nothing except allow you to run an HDMI video signal to your TV for 1080p and a digital audio signal to your home theatre system. If you have a home theatre system with HDMI inputs and outputs you do not need this. If you want sound coming from TV speakers you do not need this. Works great for what it does and meets my needs. If you do not have an XBOX with an HDMI output, then obviously you do not need this. |
For HDMI 360's only

| This product DOES work with the standard 360 as long as it's one of the HDMI compatible models. All newly produced 360's have HDMI support, but onlt the Elite model comes with this cable. If you have a newer 360 and the TV to support it, dont hesitate to buy this cable and experience true 1080p HDMI video. |
What I needed to connect both HDMI and optical audio simultaneously

| This kit includes both an HDMI cable and an RCA/Optical Audio adapter. The RCA/Optical Audio adapter has connections for both digital optical and RCA-type audio. If you just want to connect your Xbox 360 to your TV or A/V receiver via HDMI, you can probably get by with an HDMI cable alone (and these can be obtained very inexpensively). I needed this kit because I need to use both the HDMI connection (to my A/V receiver) and the digital optical audio output (to my Turtle Beach wireless gaming headphones) at the same time. The RCA/Optical adapter that came with my Xbox 360 has such a large-size connector that it blocks the HDMI port, so I couldn't use both at the same time. The RCA/Optical Audio adapter in this package has a smaller connector so that both HDMI and RCA/Optical audio can be plugged in simultaneously. I give it 5 stars because it does all that it is supposed to do and works well. The list price is too pricey so I bought it used through an Amazon 3rd-party seller and it was just like new (and in fact may be new, but just not in the original packaging). |
HDMI cable review

I was a little distressed when I recieved this product because it was not in the packaging pictured. But upon further inspection, the parts are in fact Microsoft certified products, and the ones pictured. They have just been removed from the x-box packaging, for shipping purposes I assume. Overall, great shipping speed, product comes unused, and approprietly protected for shipping, and genuine Microsoft equipment. A must have for x-box 360 owners who want to get the most out of their system and HD TV.
A few side notes:
1: For those who don't know HDMI cables, this type of cable allows 1080p picture AND dolbi sound to be transmittied to your TV via ONE cable, very handy! HDMI also utilizes a data tranmit cable that allows your tv to balance the signal, meaning you get 1080p instead of the lower picture quality of 1080i.
1080p = industry best
1080i = 720p
720i = 480p
480i = standard tv signal
So keep in mind, 1080p and 1080i are NOT equal.
2: This pack also includes the hardware you need to run the HDMI cable AND your basic red & white sound cables to your surround sound system. This is a must for people who own an HD TV that does not have an audio out feature. This is because it allows your x-box audio to come through your TV speakers and your surround sound system simulatiously. (This also has an optical out feature if your surround sound system uses this instead of R&W.) |
Amazing quality picture

| I got this cable to go with my Xbox 360 Console Halo 3 Special Edition (with HDMI) with the HDMI port. The picture on the Sony Grand Wega tv I have is amazing, and the surround sound using an optical cable is just unbelievable. Yes, you do need a 360 with an HDMI port, and the Elite does include this cable, but if you have just recently bought a Pro console, or the Halo edition console, and want THE BEST picture possible, I would definitely go with HDMI. |
Great

| Any HDMI cord would work, the only reason to get this one is if you have digital audio. Otherwise, any HDMI cord will work. No need to spend lots of money. |

We appear to all be in a mass of acronyms nowadays and HDMI is simply another of them. A high definition multimedia interface cable is the
best HDMI cable we are in fact searching for. Written that way it does not seem as much fun does it?.
What it really is in everyday language is a cable to send raw digital data for audio and visual. It is one of the reasonably new discoveries because it was first used in the 21st century. It has grown in popularity at an incredible rate since then. So much so that by January 2009 it had been put in as a base in 600 million HDMI devices.
They have, nevertheless, lots of different alternatives with their specification. The basic specifications are defined as 1.0 thru to 1.4.. You should find out which are the correct ones for the particular device to get the optimum performance level even though it is possible to use any connectors or cables.
There are 4 connector types – Type A, Type B, Type C and Type D. They are not all the same size and one other main difference is the number of pins each one has.
The HDMI cables do not have a maximum length they can be. The clarity of sound and picture that they can give us actually, more related to what they are made of. Category 2 cables are high speed cables while Category 1 cables are the standard ones. You will discover a cable is named such as hdmi cable 1.3 to reflect the various basic specifications they can operate for to reflect the different basic specifications they will operate for.
On one cable, HDMI can support any video or TV format as well as as many as eight channels containing digital audio. There is no loss of quality of video when a DVI to HDMI adapter and cable is used and it is not necessary to do signal conversion as HDMI is electrically compatible with DVI (Digital Visual Interface) signals.
In recent times the net gamers have become huge users of HDMI. When using an Xbox it is best to use an Xbox 360 hdmi cable and for a playstation 3 a playstation 3 hdmi cable or ps3 hdmi cable.
The main distributor of the best HDMI cable and Belkin, Phillips, Panasonic and other leading TV makers all supply them too.
